For the bored and interested

Hey folks! It’s about time I throw in another random “fun read,” which is a compilation of the things I have found most interesting since the last post like this. So if you’re bored, interested and have time to waste, please stay tuned!

Google Streets:

Have you folks heard of this? It’s pretty darn rad. Google definitely has too much money. It’s a feature on Google Maps that was launched on May 25, 2007. It provides a 360degree panoramic at street view level in metropolitan areas. Click >Here< to check it out!

Bionic Contact Lenses:

Researchers at the University of Washington introduced this concept recently. Basically, it’s contact lenses that can either be used as night vision, for gaming, monitoring health, and so on and so forth. Check out the video! It’s pretty darn rad.

Religion: Star Wars
That’s right folks…Did you know that George Lucas’s sci-fi movie was made into a religion/philosophy?! In the U.K. 2001 census “more than 390,000 people across England and Wales had claimed “Jedi” as their religion.” And as they say, “”We don’t have a deity, we have the Force.” I find this..pretty damn unbelievable. Click here >Here< for an NPR article link. (Thanks didi for this!)

Get your 7 hours
Supposedly, if you sleep less than 7 hours of sleep, your body functions as “badly as someone who hasn’t slept for one to three day.” Along with this ” lack of sleep increased mortality in the study participants by 26 percent for men and 21 percent for women.”

Japanese game show: Extreme baseball

Unfortunately, this video isn’t subbed, but it won’t take much to understand. I found this hilariouss! Enjoy!

Yesterday, my dad, brother and I went to eat and then watch Live Free or Die Hard (which btw is a great movie). Afterwards, my dad dropped us off with my mom so we could drive her to this place in Redmond; I drove there, my brother drove back. Long story short, it was a day of ups and downs. By the time I was done with errands, I met up with Cilla and Rachel, and we went to B&O, a small espresso/restaurant place in Seattle, to get some dessert and got home around 10ish.

I decided to log my brothers actions and found it kind of funny. Here goes:

Before we ate lunch

After lunch

Waiting for the movie to start

This goes along with my previous blog of dangerous driving: we’re stuck in traffic.

O and I read this article about doctors wanting to classify a gaming addiction as a psychiatric disorder. Those doctors are stupid as hell, the lady that wants insurance money to pay for her kid to go to boarding school should get punched in the face for bad parenting, and no gamer is “suffering.”

Bluetooth headset

Driving and using the cellphone is quite dangerous, but you’ll notice that everyone still does it. Is that illegal yet btw? I know text messaging while driving will be soon. I admit it though, I chat on the phone all the time while driving, as well as texting..and it sure n’ hell is dangerous! By the time I’m done chatting or texting and I put my full attention on the road again, I always realize that I was at least half blind while using my cellphone… >__<

To limit my dangerous actions, I’ve decided to invest in a bluetooth headset! Although I do ponder if using a headset really will keep me or people in general more focused? doesn’t it just allow me to use both hands? O well, I guess I’ll find out soon enough!

After some research on headsets and my friend Scott trying to get me into spending more money on something new and cool (haha), I chose to purchase the Sony HBHPV710. The PV 705 from last year got killer good reviews, so I decided on this one since it was just released this month. Another perk is that it matches my phone =]

I’m a junkie for gadets….

Fun Fact (from Sony page)
Why is it called bluetooth?

The Viking king Harald Bluetooth united Norway and Denmark; he was renowned as a great communicator, skilled at bringing people together to talk to each other – but he never would have guessed that a thousand years later a powerful technology would be named after him!

The Invisible Shield

In this day and age, our lives are dependent on gadgets whether you realize it or not. Cell phones have become an crucial, cameras are essential and mp3 players seem just necessary for those 10minute breaks between classes. With everyone running around with hundreds of dollars worth of electronic toys, wouldn’t it be nice to keep everything looking fresh? Well, I found a solution!–>the Invisible Shield!

The Invisible shield was first created by the military to protect helicopter blades and is now used to cover digital devices. Also, if they don’t have your specific gadget, they will actually customize one for it. The only problem with this is that it cost extra, you have to send your gadget in, insure it and pay for shipping..besides that though! if you’re lucky and they already have a design for you, then its a pretty good price. In additional to this, there is a lifetime warranty. Check it.
